Foster Grandparent

Foster Grandparents make a difference in the lives of special needs children by serving as their “Grandmas and Grandpas” in sites such as but not limited to Head Start Centers, schools, or day care facilities in the four county area.

To be a Foster Grandparent, you must be 55 years of age or older, meet income guidelines, pass a physical and criminal background check, and be available to serve a minimum of 15 hours per week.

Foster Grandparents receive a tax-free monetary reimbursement and other benefits for their participation. The Foster Grandparent Program is sponsored by the Area Agency on Aging and federally funded by the Corporation for National and Community Services. For more information, call the Area Agency on Aging at 1-800-982-4346.
